First Light for the New Schmidt

This is a picture of the first outing of my new Schmidt. After carefully focusing in my backyard

I wanted to see how it would do in a dark sky, luckily living on the west edge of  Phoenix a short

drive West for about an hour gets you to a pretty dark sky. This was also the first real run of my

new AP1200 GTO mount and along with the laptop and The Sky everything worked flawless!

The ST-4 got 0's and occasional 1's and as would be seen later The Sky and the AP 1200 worked

together perfectly. The only problems encountered were on 60 minute shots there was a small

flexure problem , this was evident on scans of small 2 pixel stars trailing 4-5 pixels.
